Newbie to the his forum. I am on Moparts and other boards but I'm a newbie here. If you have fuel injection questions I'm here to help.

What would be the best EFI set up for a 440/493 500hp? What would the cost be?

Welcome! I will replace the carburators at my 426 Hemi with fuel injektion and so will my friend Tunis with hes 472 Hemi also do so just wait because questions I have alot of them.

The easiest is the Fast EZ-EFI. There are two types of EZ. One, with the injectors in the throttle body, just bolts on instead of a carb. The other EZ is a "retro kit" for port injected manifolds. Both are totally self tuning - no laptop.

Then the top of the line is the XFI 2.0, but that's usually not needed as long as the engine produces > 9" of vacuum at idle and is under 550 HP.

The biggest problem for anyone converting to EFI is getting the fuel system right. It's not rocket science but it is different from a carb. Talk to me about that or read the "EFI for Dummies" series in Chrysler Power or download the 5 short doc files (All you wanted to know about EFI ...) from the tech page on my web site.

Not yet, but I like it, I have met Dan 68X426 with the Orange 68 Hemi RR, haven't seen too many Mopars at all.... Here's mine, it's unfinished still, also much more of a beater, not show quality, compared to yours...LOL...

Rich i have your book on Hemi's very good reading. i recommend it to anyone planning to build a Hemi. i also would like to know why your book is printed in china when so many people here are out of work?
 
Welcome Rich! I'm glad you've joined. I spoke to you on the phone a year ago when I was first thinking about my 451 build. I'm half way into that now and still planning on the F.A.S.T. EZ EFI. I can't wait to get the motor to the point where I'm ready to install the F.A.S.T. system. The build is slow going but I hope to have it all done by next spring.
