Just got off the phone with these guys. I ordered a plasma cutter and paid tues. night. The guy shipped it out wed. evening from Houston 2 day EXPEDITED shipping. Well i kept track online and quickly realized it would not be here so i could work this weekend. Now it was schedualled to be here today by 4:30. But i do work for a living and was home until after 5. Of course they tried to deliver at 1:30. We had left a note so my sister in law could sign next door (which i guess they ignored). I called fedex and told the guy, they need to deliver while someone is home if they want a sig. Thenm iask about the 2 day deal and he tries to tell me they didnt get the package til thurs. and today is 2 days. I inform him ive been tracking online and the exact time it went into thier system. He says something about no saturday delivery unless requested, to which i tell him something about horseshit. If its not here tomorrow when i get home im going to be pissed......
Well still dont have my plasma but i do feel better

Tell'em more........Fedx sucks. EVRYTIME I order from Jegs, Fedx delays the shipment at the delivery center. They don't have trucks in this area everyday. Why should they make a special trip just for me ????? Hello Summit, via UPS.

Fedex DOES suck. I've had multiple lost items both at work and at home, Once they delivered a very large box while my wife was home. She met them halfway up the driveway. The guy said "I need a signature for this". She signed, then looked at the box. It was for next door. The fedex guy said. "you signed for it" and drove off, leaving my 100lb wife standing next to a 65lb box in the middle of the driveway. The kicker is it was clearly marked from the computer maker as to what was inside.

Dude, look at the bright side, you have a 100lb. wife.

both of them are real caracters-lost a 15x8 magnum 500 and center caps--all boxes had been opened-first thing she asked me was how i paid for them go figure

I agree FedEx sucks...but UPS swallows.
I have a perfect batting average from UPS. Now USPS is another story!

UPS doesn't mark what's in the packages. Before I opened an account, they asked what I was shipping and I just told them auto parts but now that's not even asked.

Oh man! Mine USE to be 100 lbs. She's nearly doubled that now and still ******* about me drinking even though I've cut that back by over 50%. Told her last night that I'd stop entirely if she lost 60 of the 80 she's gained and she just looked at me like I was crazy!

They usually want to know who shipped and paid but never heard of them asking how it was paid for. Maybe if it was by credit card, they know you can cancel the payment?

The neighbors were away for over a week. I just put the box by their door. I thought quite a bit about just keeping it. The box have 3 inch tall color printed letters "GATEWAY" and a company logo.

Wife is now 105 and thinks she is "packing on the pounds", which makes me laugh.
I keep telling her she has a body women (and girls) 1/2 or even 1/3 her age would kill for.

I've had MUCH better luck with UPS although the driver for my job area is a dick. I've even had decent luck with USPS.

Problem I have with UPS is... seems whenever I order multiple parts that are in seperate boxes from the same company with the same type of shipping (next day, ground, etc...) UPS sends them via different routes and end up arriving on different days. Even though the parts are similar in size and weight. For instance, I ordered some parts from Mancini not too long ago. A speedo cable and a deeper transmission pan with a drain plug. Neither one weighed over 6lbs and the cable was in a box almost identical in size to the pan. UPS showed them both picked up at the same time. One went via Indianapolis to me the other via Lexington, KY. The one that went through Indy arrived a day before the one that went through Lexington. I can't tell you how many times that has happened. Yes they get here....but UPS has all the
consistency of lumpy diarrhea!

Wtf

Well, this one should blow your mind. I am awaiting two small packages, ordered on different days. Both arrived in Marquette this morning at 7:40 am. One package was sent 2nd day air, the other regular ground shipping. The one sent 2 day air, is being delivered today, the other was transferred to the post office so it can take one more day to be delivered. The frustrating thing is that the ups warehouse is only about 8 blocks from my house and I could have gone there and picked it up. But, why would they hire another to deliver tomorrow what they are already doing today? Stupid!!

A lot of times it depends on the load. If the packages are 'together' on the conveyor etc when they all get to the proper loading dock, then they will both be loaded at the same time but if not and the truck is full, then the second package will rerouted.

That probably is true in a large area. But this is Marquette MI. Follow this out to its logical conclusion. Ups makes less money on ground shipping than on 2d day air. It is obviously cheaper to hire the usps to deliver that stuff. so in effect, the taxpayers subsidized the delivery to my house since the post office is on track to lose 8 billion dollars and UPS is profiting on that. Smart on UPS part. BTW, the package went right by my house on the way to the post office. So in this case, it was more expensive all around, but in the long run and for a nationwide company it is smart to have this policy and let the subsidized Post office deliver it cheaper.
It's all good tho, I went and showed my ID at the post office and they gave me my package today.

YY1,
So the wife is up to 105#s now??

Is that while carrying a cement block in each hand and an anchor chain for a necklace?

One of my girlfriends was the same way, except about half of it was piss and vinegar. Sure was a good idea to keep her happy.

I must be lucky. I've had great service from FedEx and UPS. Even USPS is pretty good. (yes ... I am knocking on wood). Once in a great while I'll get a package for somebody else or someone else will get mine. Overall, I'm happy with those services.

Well after the conversation yesterday i hurried home so there would be no excuses. After sitting around for about an hour i got online just to see. They came by at 1:27. This is after i called and let them have it yesterday. And gave them my cell number. Guess i'll be calling again. They must not know people work during the day. Sorry i cant say for sure what i told the guy about horseshit. I was on a roll and dont remember exactly how it was stated

How many trucks are in your area? We don't have enough here at all! The drivers are always speeding and working past their quitting times. And that's just a small snippet of what goes on behind the scenes. A buddy of mine that works for them tells me this stuff....but they pay good and not many complain but sometimes many do and usually that's when service goes down.

I hate FEDEX.

UPS > FEDEX > USPS

5lbs. box from Summit Racing. Ohio to NJ

UPS Ground - 2 Days
FEDEX Ground - 3 Days
USPS Priority - maybe next week

No idea how many trucks they have. Probably not enough in any market, that's why they hire out. and are profitable. Thank goodness. It's all good. I was just amazed that these packages were scanned in the same minute and delivered in totally different ways. It has to be because of the price of the 2nd day air. I actually like UPS. My driver loves my car and usually stops and chats for a few moments, which is rare. Like you said, they are usually screaming all over town driving like madmen. USPS.......don't get me started
