Fender Bodywork Puzzle

'68 Coronet that appears to have had body work in the 70's sometime. The drivers fender is a replacement (factory likely?). The original (passenger) had a ding in the corner that had about 8 holes drilled to pull it out that I had to weld closed and fill, but…. look at the photos. The factory replacement is not _quite_ the same as the original. How should I deal with this? Leave it? Build up the original to look more like the replacement? Something else?
