65 Belvedere. Does this look like an amature (being careful) could fix this?
If not....I'll post for replacement (65 Belvedere / Satellite). MInes a wagon, but I guess the front fenders are the same.

thanks.

Was that the wagon on FABO? if it is, that car is a cream puff!

Anyways, that fender is pretty mangled. I would try and find a different one, if your just starting out.
If the fender doesn't have any rust on it, it's worth saving. I would fix it, if it was my car or a customer car that I was working on.
Maybe bring it somewhere, to just have it metal straightened, then take over from there. Just a thought.

Yes it is. VERY clean. I've had it on the lift the last few days doing some odds and ends.

Oil/filter change. Clean-regap plugs. check trans and rear fluid (tranny fluid in gearbox, fluid clean in Sure-grip rear) Replaced rubber fuel lines in engine bay, topped of coolant, adjusted the brakes, lubed all grease fittings, set timing, carb settings.

I had to drill the ole locking gas cap off, sucked out the bottom of the gas tank. New fuel tomorrow. I may replace the sending unit, gotta read the book on that one.

Can it be fixed?.......Yes. By an amature?.......Probably not. Lotza work! Better off finding a fender in a bit more decent shape Guy..Good luck!

Not worth your time. An experienced guy would write that one off. It's going to be stretched with many high spots. The bottom would make a good patch for a rusty dog leg. It would be easier to cut and weld that part to a rusty fender than fix this one.

You dont have anything to lose, give it a whirl.

first, someone who is experienced could (in time) probably save that fender. But you'd have way more time in that one that buying, replacing, and painting a replacement.

Now for the important stuff.

I didn't see it on FABO, so how bout a lil ****??:HappyNewYear:

I've been doing this for about 23 years, and if it's a clean fender, it's worth fixing.

Not worth your time.

Thats what people said to me about this customer car before I started on it.

Been doing some reading on hammer and dolly work. The large dents are the easy part. Its the sharp creases that pose the problem. I've seen some incredible work. But yours might be on the borderline. Time vs cost. The only one that concerns me is one that crosses the crease on the top, the rest are easy for a good hammer and dolly man. These guys are artists that choose to work with metal!

fender

Save it, looks pretty rust free. Solid metal can always be fixed. Its the front tip that fixing gets real expensive doing. plus these are just not common enough to discard. Plus one often forgets to factor in t he shipping or getting cost in value of a replacement. I say any good fender is worth $200 and up but big sheet metal tends to get local in value.

Ok on the carporn request....heres a few.

Nice wagon. As for the fender, find a replacement but keep this one. You wreck another fender this could end up being the good one.

That car is gorgeous!!! Fender, fixable is not rusted out but if it were me I'd replace it and work on the original on the side. Did I say that car is gorgeous. Im a little biased on long roofs though :)
