Need some help if possible! Now that I have owned my 70 RR for 3week and driven it a few times I have a few questions I wanted to see if I could get some help with.
1. My transmission has been shifting odd and after taking a closer look at thing I found a strange looking clip sitting on my frame rail. Looking at the BEandA website it looks like it go’s the Z bar setup? Anyone have a picture of how this setup is put together?
2. My air grabber only works when the car is moving and the switch on the dash is worthless! Any Ideas?
3. I have a popping noise coming from the frontend of the car when I turn. Sounds like it’s coming from the driver’s side. A good Mopar guy told me I should make sure everything is greased correctly. Could grease really stop a popping noise?:eusa_eh:
4. I’m thinking about adding a rear sway bar but I’m not sure if this is beneficial with such a large car! Anyone have luck with a rear bar pack?
Thank you for your help!

is it auto?could be the kickdown linkage is unhooked or out of adjustment! sounds like a problem with the switch! Possible ball joint or control arm bushing(lower)

1-As Steve said could be kickdown linkage. But what do you mean by odd?

2-So what you are saying is you get moving down the road and without using the switch the grabber just opens unprompted?

3- If it isnt lubed up it can pop. I doubt that will fix it though. Usually worn out parts/bushings = popping. Climb under there and lube her up with a grease gun. Any Zerk fitting put grease into it until you see it start to come out. While under there look for missing/worn out bushing etc... Recruit an assistant to turn the wheel while you are under there to see if you can pinpoint the noise.

4- I have no idea never done it.

Thanks guys.
The RR is a 4spd. Here is a picture of the Clip.

Yes 70RR when I'm moving down the road without using the switch the grabber just opens.

My RR has all new everything in the front end! Bushings, Brakes.
Here is the RR I'm talking about. It always help to have a picture! :)

Thinking it's the retainer clip that holds the rod from the clutch pedal to the z-bar. As for the shifting funny, check the bushings inside the z-bar (at both ends) and make sure they aren't worn out. Sway bar (imho) would be a welcome addition (SS Impala's have them). Not much help on the rest...good luck and let us know what you find!

Air Grabber

Get me a picture of the bottom of the hood on the air grabber. It sounds like it isn't all hooked up on the scoop. If it is all hooked up it won't raise going down the road. Thanks Ronnie
