A year or 2 ago I got some seats off ebay, reason= the covers were real similar to my rear covers and the seats it came with were crap from a jap truck I think? ug, but the description of the seats on ebay stated the seller thought they were from a new yorker or or older coronet or something along those lines and for a year I searched for then in google pics from all cars all years with no luck!

Finaly just at random looking through RK motors in Charlotte inventory came across a 68 RR and saw the dam seats lol couldn't believe it, for one, was worried I had 66 or 67 seats in my car, also was worried was for a Dodge and not a Plymouth so to find out they are out of a 68 RR is huge relief for me. My interior is not original but close to year correct with 68 stuff and since my car was a Jan/69 car probably middle/end of the production line (RM23's 383 auto's 24,351. Mine 13,6923) I feel good about the find. My seats are currently being re done by an local upholstery shop here with the same deluxe style seams. So Its exciting to see I made the right call getting these or maybe it's just dumb luck lmao I am posting this because I needed to see what the side covers looked like, I had no idea and is the last piece of that puzzle. Another cool thing about these seats is I was able to confirm they are set up for headrests already, all I have to do is get the headrests and install parts and Its a 69 baby lol

My seats before redo,

Those seat backs don't look right for a '68 Plymouth B-body ( too fancy). And there's a definite difference in the patterns

Yes definately different, but from a Plymouth those seat medallions came with the seats. and the frames are the same size. I'm happy nonetheless.

When you are sitting in it no one will see it they look very nice indeed

I'm no expert but I would think they're more likely from a '66 or '67. The lack of headrest puts them earlier than 69 for sure and the trim in b-bodies was a little fancier before 68. If it weren't for the medalions I'd be thinking Coronet or Charger

It really wont matter your right, the seats now are getting custom re upholstered to the same pattern just by hand not with Legendary pre made covers.

What year did mopar start equipping the seats to accept headrest? I haven't torn into the set I bought back in April...were all seats, post 67, made to accept headrest even if you declined the option?

66-67 A/B body seats have headrest provisions from the factory but nobody repops the headrests. I looked for over two years before I found a set from a member on here. Without them if you are rear ended you will become a Pez dispenser. Headrests were mandatory on all US cars as of Jan 1 1969 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Your seats look to be 68 C body buckets.
