i took my 66 satellite nss car out to the track to test it and ended up running 7.69 at 89 mph in the 1/8th mile, not too bad for my combo, it has a full interior, less heater and a 4.56 gear with 255/60/15 et streets and a 4500 ptc converter, the motor is a .030 440 with flat top pistons , stock crank and rods, 906 heads with 2.14 1.81 valves, no port work, just gasket match and a ch28 edelbrock dual quad with two 500 cfm thunder series carbs, a .590 mp solid cam and hooker headers, it weighs 3500 so im looking to improve, hoping to get 750s or better out of it! i entered the race and went 4 rounds while i was there and went .495 red on the last run, darn it!!! lol

sounds pretty good.... you have left some ET/MPH on the table, especially with the non-ported iron heads, need multi-angle & back cut valve job & pocket porting, especially short side radios under the valves done, or they're not flowing very well, they need to be ported, to get your potential best combo... BB Mopar wedge heads are a real choke point in the combo & are probably killing some potential power at about the 4500-5500rpm & up level... good luck & have fun

thanks ssr and budnicks im gonna build a new set of heads, im gonna get a set of 915s with some good port work done to them possibly a summer project, having too much fun right now lol!!

i had a set of 915's closed port heads years ago in my 446 ci max wedge savoy. ran a best of 11.70. that was years ago. They were really great heads at the time.

Glad to hear its running good ! Got any pics of it ? Having fun with out cool Mopars is what its all about and it sounds like you are having alot of fun. Ron
