copy7.jpgcopy8.jpgcopy5.jpgcopy6.jpgI had previously posted about a couple mobile home junkyards I found out in the middle of nowhere on my way to pick up some rally wheels. Went back there today and these are some pic's my son managed to get before We were told in a loud stern voice "WE'RE CLOSED" I stated we were just out for a motorcycle ride and saw the cars and wanted to take a few pics, is that ok? Was told NO! We had spotted the super six engine sitting by the side of the road so my son asks, You've got a super six sitting over there would you like to sell it? We get NO, THERE'S NOTHING GOOD OUT THERE IT'S ALL FOR SCRAP. Son says well I'll pay you more than scrap prices. He says NO NOTHING'S FOR SALE. NOW MOVE ALONG. Son managed to get a couple more quick pics as we were getting on our bikes. If you can ID anything feel free.copy.jpgcopy1.jpgcopy2.jpgcopy3.jpgcopy4.jpgcouple more

Why do these kind of people not sell anything? I'd be trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff so I could fix up a few for myself by the money made off of sales. I really can't understand it.

pardon my french... that's a ******* shame right there...

I'll never understand it. I expected to hear the usual, I'm going to restore that someday. Half expected to see the business end of his shotgun. Can anyone tell what that green vert is? super6.jpgThis super six complete was sitting about 10' off the side of the road along with a bunch of other engines/trans.

looks to me to be a 68 dart? i know i see a matador wagon that's pleading for a 440wedge!!!

Last picture is a '67 or '68 AMC Rebel, bumper to bumper with an '80 to '83 AMC Concord. Fifth picture down, I see an '80 AMC Concord wagon.

thanks Matador, i knew i saw an AMCer wagon out there!!!

that green one is a rebel, eh? wow, i could have sworn it was a dart. either way, it's a damn shame letting that American iron going to **** on purpose.

I thought the green vert was a mopar also, got as close as I dared to grab that pic. How about the third pic, it says plymouth across the hood, but it's too old for me to know what it is. But it looked real solid.
Across the street there was a first gen camaro vert and a ferd maverick and some larger trucks tha I could see.

Ive always wondered why they are like that, if its just scrap to him, fine, id give more then what he would get for scrap, ive said as much to a couple but did no good, but its his stuff and ill respect someone and wont bother.. one guy i knew had one car i wanted years ago (do and sell) and he made sure it was dented in, glass all broke and took a knife to the interior! the kicker was he even knifed the brand new seat covers, regular refit covers from a place like Legendary, all so i or anyone else would go to that yard and try to get it.. And thats what a friend of his told me, he could have sold the seats, why ruin them just because you cant finish it yourself, a real dead head.

Some people simply don't want to be bothered. Unfortunately, it's their choice.

Speaking of yards...A friend from the vintage snowmobile world posted some pics of a yard he recently went to. Get a hanky;you'll need one.

There were lots more;a bunch of GTOs,including a '69 and '70 Judge;big and small block Camaros and Novas;Mustang Mach 1s and on and on. I can get more pics after the nausea goes away...

damn,,,look at DAT....someone threw away a perfectly good AAR cuda.....some people need strung up by their balls im thinkin'

i consider an AMCer a MoPar also...i dunno how the AMC guys feel bout it though...

i dunno all about that Mar. i do know that AMC used pretty much the best stuff from the BIG 3. i know they used Mopar trannys starting in'72 and left Borg Warner behind. as far as the rest, it'll be a learning experience for me.

my mother had a Rebel when i was a kid and my sister totalled it. she also had a Rambler. my dad wad a big AMC guy...and thats a part of why i bought that Javelin. !

The upper photos don't look too much like a "find" to me.

Ya there's no high demand cars there. I don't know about your side of the state but over here you don't see very many of these yards around someones mobile home. You'd be hard pressed to find anything older than a late 80's car in any yard around me.

My first car was a 66' rambler ambassador 4dr. Had a 327, 4bbl holly, split reclining front bench (pull headrests and seats would lay flat) fact. am/fm with built in reverb, tinted glass, chrome rain deflectors, a/c (non working). Was very tired by the time I got it, used to backfire thru carb. Had a couple people try to fix it w no luck. Had no air cleaner carb caught on fire many times, put it out with snow from the side of the road one time. Another time someone sprayed the engine with a fire extinguisher. Still kept chuggin along till the trans went.

Now that's sad :(

If it was for scrap it would be gone by now, especially since scrap metal prices are peaking. And I've never known a junk guy to pass up a parts sale, especially at higher than scrap value. More likely is this guy is a hoarder.

Or maybe some of the VINs are "warm"...
