Hey all. Does anyone have a picture of the grommet at the firewall that the AG lines travel through? I would assume that there is some type of grommet. Thanks.

Hi

This is what I used on my "69 Road Runner. Hope it helps. CSC_0023.jpg

What year & model are we talking about?

The grommet is cone shaped (taper on the inside) and there are 3 x separate holes for the individual hoses. I can pull it out if that helps any.

Thanks. Easier to find one when you know what you're looking for looks like. The reason forr the question is that one company sells a complete firewall grommet/plug kit, but when asked what the firewall air grabber grommet looked like the answer was vague. Yes, 1970 Is the year in question.

I have checked a few grommet packages offered by different suppliers, and have never seen this grommet in any of them. I think it is a very hard to find grommet....but if you happen to locate a source, there are at least 2 people here on FBBO who would crawl across broken glass to get one.

Well I decided to look under the dash to see if the dummy that painted the engine compartment had just pushed the grommet through the firewall. Sure enough, he did. Great for me as that's one less part I need to hunt down. Time for a beer.

Hey, great idea. I'll have to check to see if that's where mine went.

I was wondering if you'd chime in. Great idea as in time for a beer?

Yes, you read my thoughts correctly. Except my last batch of beer is so fizzy it's 95% foam.

After which I may also check for the grommet...

Been looking for over a year, no luck so far.

What size is the hole in the firewall for this grommet? Also I would be the 4th person in need of said grommet.

Hole size is 3/4" .....and the list grows for the elusive grommet

Well would ya know...today I finally took a look and sure enough, the grommet is under my dash. Thanks for the tip! In all the years, there's just been a firewall hole with hoses, who knows how long that piece of rubber has been pushed in.
