Firewall wiring

need some ideas on how to run my wiring from my gauges through the firewall that is safe from being cut and water proof.Thanks Ron
 
You could drill a hole or use a hole saw. Install a rubber grommet, run your wires, then seal it with a/c sealant tape. The stuff they put around a/c lines where they pass through firewalls. Not sure what the exact term for it is but auto parts stores should have it or be able to get it.
 
Depending on the vehicle, if it came with (or could have come with) an air grabber hood or cruise control or something like that, maybe you could just drill your hole in one of those stock locations and use a stock rubber grommet there?

A 'step cutter' or chassis punch will make a neater finish. Unless you're really handy with a file or de-burring tool. :icon_cool:
