I'd like to eliminate all -or as much as possible the wiring from the firewall, but having total brain fade on where /how to re route the wiring- idea's please.

I don't have any pics at work with me but I completely did away with the bulkhead connector and fabricated a panel with a grommet to fit that hole. I ran everything that needed to go through there to that side through that 1 little (somewhat little) hole and loom to where it needed to be. Because I completely ripped out my old fuse panel and mounted new one under the dash, I was able to keep pretty neat and run another hole out the passenger side for ground and that side of the motor.. I will add a pic or 2 when I get home tonight if it will help.

Depending on how or what the planned use of the car is, we did a 64 Barracuda and ran everything in the fender well (under)along the top. We built a box/shield to keep dirt /water and the like out. We even ran the A/C lines on the other side passenger fender the same way.

Here are some pics I found of the process.

Here’s the mess after ripping it out the car! No looking back!

Bulkhead coming out!

The msd and new fuse box going back in. Early stage, I finished all that off under there. I just cut a piece of metal. Screwed and weather sealed to bulkhead hole and ran wires through it. Unfortunately the wires have to go in different directions once they poke through. I used a Ron Francis power junction bloc to help tidy up and a Ron Francis negative(ground) junction on the other side grounding the car really well! It did get rid of the mess in the pics!

Good luck, hope it helps a little.

hanks -that is kinda what I have in mind. the individual wires to the engine starter relay etc. are ugly.

this is my street car- with heater only- no other electrical inside. so ign, alt wiring lights and horn only under hood wiring.

What engine are you using ?

On my 64 I ran the bulk of my wires through the clutch rod hole and used a clutch rod boot for protection. The MSD ignition wires went a different route to keep them separated. Mine's just a race car so there was a lot of stock stuff I didn't have to deal with although I had to add wiring for the ignition, water pump, cooling fan and fan assisted transmission cooler. I left the starter relay on the firewall for easy access. I used the same route on my friends 69 Roadrunner race car and another friends 63 Plymouth race car.

If you want to hide it all including the fire wall wiring it can through the floor. Then into the frame rail forward. Look below the firewall above the right frame rail, that's where it enters. Then the wiring exits just behind the passenger motor plate tab. At this point all the body wiring is in place.

I like the odd manifold by edlebrock, mainly because I have it.getting trans throttle pressure kick down is an issue.

What are you going to do with the intake, carbs, hardware/etc after pulling the 383 out?
