Hey guys, any tips for changing the water pump on my 383 67? I presume its fairly straight forward (does it matter that I have AC?), I have time booked in with the family now to allow me some thinking and thumping time on Saturday to give her a filter, plug and oil change but I will have to do the pump as well due to some grinding when I put the boot down last weekend plus it threw the belt out of the pram giving me some wake up steam.

This is what I ordered http://www.carid.com/1967-dodge-cha...g/milodon-mechanical-water-pump-94997648.html

The water pump on a 383 is a piece of cake. Remove the belt. CAREFULLY unbolt the fan from the water pump & remove it (may have to loosen fan shroud). Unbolt the 4 bolts, replace pump with new gasket, re-assemble in reverse order. The only thing to watch out for is damaging your radiator removing/replacing the fan.

When finished, don't overfill system. Leave 1 1/2 to 2 inches from the top radiator neck. Burp it. Have a laser temp gun handy to be sure.

Like said, cake walk. Mopar did us a big favor with the pump being seperate from the pump housing. Happy wrenching
