Tried running a heads up 12.0 race tonight for kicks & to see how my car would hook on M/T ET Streets.
First pass left without stabbing the throttle, shift early at 5800 & coasted thru to a 12.63 @ 86.19 ... oops, let off too much.
Second pass left about the same, shift the same rpm, lift at the lights 11.77 @ 97.84 ... oops, didn't lift enough.
First round took a nap, left soft, shifted the same, 11.69 @ 119.52 = first round runner up.lol
much to learn about heads up index racing.lol

Take a T&T run, shifting at 6400 & leaving hammer down.
Best pass ever on DRs & second best pass ever.

Nice! Is there a thread already that tells more about your car? Or could you tell details here? Chassis mods, engine size, hp, compression ratio, trans set up, rear gear ratio, etc, etc..

11.28 is the best it's ever ran, that was on 28x11.5 Hoosiers.
There are two 11.50 index races coming that i'm going to try, those will be run off a .400 pro tree.
My car usually runs 11.50s shifting at 6000

You have a very good running 440. I tried running a 12.0 class when my old 440 was in my car. It was not as strong as yours but it had run 11.49 @ 116. The thing was it was also a pro tree and I found out real fast a mild street car like mine with just SS springs wont react fast enough to cut a good light if I staged like I did on a full tree. Basically I had to deep stage and I knew that if they let me turn the top bulb out that maybe then I could get good lights. My car has a Dynamic 9.5 converter but it just dont react fast enough to cut a good light on a pro tree without deep staging. I was used to shallow staging on a full tree but you dont have the time to do that on a pro tree in a mild 11 second leaf spring car without deep staging. It was fun as I loved the pro tree. I just waited for the first hint of yellow and then go ! But you need a fast reacting car which mine is not setup to run a pro tree. Good luck to you as I will be wanting to know how it goes for you. Have you ever run a pro tree before ? Ron

Thanks Ron, this will be something new to me.
I use to bracket race quite often 20 or so years ago, but not much at all lately. I know the pro tree is a whole different game & i'm just looking to do this for kicks. I will try to deep stage to see what happens.
The October 11th event is only tentative & base rules have been set. "Street" cars with current plates/registration, some tire limitations & exhaust requirements. Unlimited 1/8, Unlimited 1/4, 10.50, 11.50 & 12.50 index. The 11.50 & 12.50 classes will be run off a .400 pro tree, the rest will be old school arm drop.
Hopefully i can find some Mopar people that may want to enter. I believe i was the only older Mopar at Muncie friday night. Mostly LS & BBC powered cars.

I always wondered how they sync the arm drop with the timing lights. I raced at Beaver Springs nostalgia race with an arm drop and treed the "racer" with a .485 light. How do they figure that out?????
