First race of the year the Great Lakes Super Stock association. 39 degrees on the way there. Get unloaded, teched, and go up for the first TT, 15 mph head wind. Click off a .023 R/T 9.24@144. Slow but ok we'll work with it. 2nd pass .035 R/t 9.23@144. The head wind is killing it. First round I have to run a front wheel drive Grandam. He dials 14.16 to my 9.23. I am spooked about red lighting, so after sitting over 5 seconds I hit a conservative .060 R/T. Bearing down on him by 50+mph I'm on the brakes 6 car lengths behind him. I'm rusty at the stripe and give it up by .019. However I put a scare in him as he goes .06 under . to my .02 over. 2nd round it's a lot closer, in fact real close. My .031/9.255 on a 9.25 to his .032/ 9.945 on a 9.94.the stripe is .0002. I mistakenly left my 12 volt fridge on and kill the generator battery in the trailer. So stupidly the charger goes on the trailer instead of the car. Third round drive up to the lanes, shut the car off and flip for lane choice. Start it move it up, shut it off and belt up. Start move up in line. Time to start it and hit the water box, no ahah.
Well the car was dead on 60/330/660/1000ft 4 passes back to back. The lights I attacked at the tree were between .023-.035. Next stop Dave Duell Classic in Bowling Green Ky.
