Getting close in firing my car up after a rebuild engine. What are your recommendation on the radiator fluid, brake, power steering. The engine itself has been setting for 2 1/2 years to be fired don't know how long I should run the present oil before I change it and when I do what oil should I use. Thanks guys for your opinions.

Start with fresh dino oil and change it out for inspection (This is what I think your meaning to do... ) and use the oil of your choice. If your just trying to start up the car, the oil in there will be fine until you do start it up. Once it just simply starts, then change it. Though I'd change it first. Rototella has some of the old good stuff in it i'm told.

I have not seen a big difference in fluids in any measureable way to my naked eye. However, being that I listen to the been there and done that when they say something of worth like my good freind a 20+ year Chrysler mechanic, he says he only uses Peak anti-frezze, it's the closest to the OE MoPar brand with the same ingridents or as close to it as possible.

Brake and power steering seem not to have much sway in the old mechanic ranks.

Trans fluid & filter is another issue. Change that recently? (Rear Gear oil?)

Make sure you have some oil with high ZINC or add a bottle of ZDDP to keep from wiping your cam out right away. The rest of it? I dunno. More people are using synthetics than before. I run Amsoil in the motors now (because of the ZINC), and the next stick I'll probably switch to a synthetic as well
