The car belongs to a friend of mine that lives a few miles away. He doesn't have a computer so I told him I'd post it for him. The car was built about 35 years ago and hasn't had more than about 50 miles put on it since (all track mileage). It's been garaged during those years. When he stopped racing several years ago he sold the engine/transmission from it and it has sat since then. I will be contacting him (hopefully later today) to get more info on it. I believe that he has the title because it was his street car for years before he decided to turn it into a track car. I will find out if he still has all of the original instrument cluster pieces and headlight bucket assemblies. I will also try to get more pictures of it. The car is far from being laser straight but it was built long enough ago that it wasn't rotted out or a basket case. It was bracket raced and ran in the 12s with a 383/727. He could have run faster but he was still running a stock converter and the motor was pretty mild. It was consistent though. Although he never ended up a season champ with it, he did place 2nd in the standings at the end of a few seasons.

I checked with the car owner and he did keep all of the original parts from the Coronet. He has all of the factory interior parts including the instrument cluster, seats, and the console. He also kept all of the headlight buckets, etc. He will try to gather up all of those extra parts this weekend and I will post pictures of them when I can.

I had a question sent to me via pm about rust concerns. When I get a chance to take more pictures I will try to photograph as much of the undercarriage as possible. I have been going under the assumption that there are no rust issues because the car has been garaged for the past 35 years. - But I will check it out closely and document with pictures what I find.

I was just wondering if there were any updates on this car? Photo's?

I talked to Dale today and he said he's going to take the car off the market now. He had a number of calls from guys that were interested but no-one stopped down to check it out. He felt that a few folks were trying to low ball him pretty bad on it so he's decided to put a drive train back in it and race it again. I never had a chance to post any more pictures because he'd gotten too busy to get things ready. I still feel it would have been a really good deal for someone wanting to put an early B-body back on the strip. He had a lot of $$ just in the rear end and the custom headers had to be worth quite a bit all by themselves.

Well, if your going to sell a car, you got to expect people to lowball you. It would have been nice to see other pictures. The price was right.IF, he changes his mind again, I'd be interested IF there were more pictures.:headbang:

I agree with you happyjackdaddy. But it was his call to make. I was just the go between. Maybe I can talk him into posting more pics anyway.
