I have owned this for over 10 years.
Story is Burt Reynolds drove it from a small airport to the movie set, when he would fly in for filming. After filming ended for the movie, the scout was just left sitting at the airport.
I found it years ago on a farm in Habersham county.
It's been sitting in my shop for over 10 years.
The man was using it on his farm when I purchased it. The scout was being driven with no exhaust mounts which caused the exhaust manifold to crack the head. I purchased a head and had a machine shop rework it. Purchased a stans header. Then things in life got a little busy. Never was able to restore her as I intended. Now I'm willing to let someone else take the time to finish her up. OK I've got no proof that this is the same scout it's just what I was told when I bought it but it would be cool restored regardless. Sure would look nice with a canoe on top and the original hubcaps. Make me an offer and come get her, she need someone to finish her up this truck will be awesome!

Yep...you would LITERALLY need a picture of Burt Reynolds in the truck & be able to verify that it is this exact truck OR maybe a title search with Burt Reynolds' name on it that matches the VIN. Otherwise, it's a $4500 piece of junk.

That Looks like its copper color. The picture he posted in the ad of the set the truck looks. Puke yellow/gold or gouldons mustard color.

Story is.. I shot off a model rocket. I think I'm a NASA engineer.

am I missing something? I don’t think he has it too over priced. Realistically you can probaly go there with $2800 cash and have a cool scout. There is a HUGE following for international vehicles.

There is a dedicated Scout following and those prices seem to be strong. The price on this one may be a little high but its an asking price. Selling price will be somewhere in the 3-35k range i think. The story is just that- a story. Big deal. Just another fuckin sit around and bash something you know nothing about thread. I dont understand why this is entertaining for people....

My brother in law has been offered 5k for this 75 scout, it is all numbers matching but it is rusty, quarters, fenders, floor pans, body mounts.

No offense taken just saying he’s not asking out of range for that car. It’d be different if he was asking 15k because it was in the movie. Seems like he’s a realist and realizes it adds no value without proof, therefore has it priced appropriately.

What would bug me is the violation of the golden rule of selling a car. "If you cant document and prove it, dont suggest it!" 67 Belvedere. "Richard Petty may have farted in the back seat". Ok, that makes it worth 25k. Just like the whole barn find nonsense. You would think 90% of America looks like Montana. Every car that has been neglected or left to the elements is suddenly worth 5 times as much instead of 1/5 as much. You know, "its a barn find!"

PP1RT is the one making this more than it should be. If you don't like it don't read it. I agree with fratzog. The dude shouldn't even imply it. Never said the truck wasn't worth what he was asking. But if you want to buy the truck that has ties to a movie that showed blatant rednecksual rape well by all means go buy it. Maybe you too can squeel squeel like a pig.

I was referring to your line of i don't think he will ever sell it. You evidently dont know the market for IH scouts very well with that comment. The price is not out of line at all.

As for the story line who gives a ****. Everyone seems to try to add some attention getting blah blah blah to their ads. Craigslist, ebay, hemmings, you name it-they all have it. Rare, barn find,old lady owned, whatever. Doesn't add one cent of value without some form of documentation. I have some back stories of a few of my cars and it doesn't change a thing but provide a little conversation.

Anyhow. It was just about it being a "Deliverance" truck. That was the funny part. I can care two squirts o piss about whether he sells it or not. It's just funny, nothing more nothing less.

He might as well add Ned Bettys soiled underwear were in the glove box.. Or even more funny hanging from the mirror.
