I have a Ford 9" in the back of this Savoy. When I spin one wheel, the other spins the oposite direction. This means it's a limited slip diff??
That being the case, in a post waterbox burnout, will both tires spin? I did a burnout on dry pavement and only the pass side rear lit up.(then the police showed up like it was a bank heist)
Or is this an open diff?

That sounds like an open diff. I think in a suregrip (posi) both wheels should spin in the same direction.

It's a one leg peg, open, non limited slip, non posi, so on so forth.

Seems pointless that someone would go to the effort of building a pro street car to NHRA spec and then fit it with the one wheel squeal option doesn't it?
Ugghh..there's another grand to invest...

Look at it this way, now you have the opportunity to rip it out and put a 8 3/4 or Dana in......gotta look on the bright side of things, lol!!!

Hah ha, I was waiting for someone to pipe up. I always thought it seemed weird when people did that. I just assume that a Mopar built with a 9" was probably not built by a Mopar guy. That's not about brand loyalty either, just common sense.

the mention of non mopar parts is an automatic advance to next thread....

:icon_lol:

Well, the aftermarket really caters to the 9" rear end. There's a ton of different gear ratios available for it too. As for them being stronger....well, only if you have the good stuff in them like the nodular iron center section and on and on. Personally, I don't really care for the low pinion angle on them. That design robs more HP than the 8 3/4 or the Dana 60. Many piss on the 60 because "it's so heavy" but in reality, even tho it is heavier, it's not that much more.

Posi, mopar never made no stinkin' posi, just suregrips, lol!!!
