This car has been sitting in the back yard of a house for several years and I've always liked the looks of it, but the owner hasn't wanted to part with it. I got to speak with him today and he is finally willing to sell. I haven't gotten to see the car up close yet (only from the street where I took the picture), but will be taking a look at it next week when he's off work. I don't have any experience with Plymouths and am wondering if this is a good deal.

It is all original with a 383 4-barrel that has been rebuilt. The only rust is in the very bottom of the trunk. It's an automatic on the column. He said it runs well, but it needs paint and the interior redone.

Does this look like it's worth the $5K he's asking? 67 Satellite.jpg

More pics will help. When you look at it up close, look for rust near the hood hinge area. Also check underneath at the torsion bar crossmember. From the only pic it looks like pine needles on the cowl area. If the needles get down into the air box, rust is likely to have done some damage. Run a hose over this area and check for leaks inside under the dash.If the car is solid and has only the little rust in the lower quarters, and it runs, stops and is complete, $5K would be near the high end, but not overpriced if it is truly solid and doesn't need a total mechanical overhaul in addition to the bodywork, paint and interior resto. Just my opinion, check it over real good, post up more pics when you get them. BTW, welcome to the site....

The picture makes it look nice, but you need to do a real close inspection.

I just picked up a 66 Coronet, gutted inside, needs 1 quarter and 1 trunk extension and a little work on the other quarter, but subframes and floors are nice.

I don't think 5 is bad for a rebuilt origional engine driver if it's not to rusty.

Depends on overall condition, and if it will start up and run, then I would say yes. And if you can do your own mech work that helps. Any car that old will need some mech work. I really like the looks of that year, as do alot of others on the forum. I bought a 69 Road Runner a year ago, paid $6000.00 for it, and had to tow it home. Had the motor running within 2 days, and trans and running gear all good. But needed brakes, and alot other stuff. First thing before you start it, change the oil and filter. And prime the oil pump if its been sitting for very long. That way the critical engine parts will have clean oil flowing before it even fires up. Go for it and we will help you with advice and guidance along the way. Its a great hobby!
