Ok here's the situation of the car. I'm trying to figure out which way to go.
-The rear end is either warped or frame is bent. Rear tires arent aligned, wearing on outside
- needs new quarters
-floor and trunk pans are perfect
- no rust up front
- engine and trans good
- glass and seals perfect
- engine is original. Plan on swapping for 440 build and saving the numbers engine
(Update)
Ok so took the bee to a body shop that specializes in restorations and the guy agreed that even if the frame was bent it wouldn't have caused a wear pattern like the one i have. So Im pretty sure it's the rear that's bent. The guy also let me know, in a round about way, that I couldn't afford his services haha. He has over a two year wait and mostly does full restorations. However he did point me to a shop that only does sheet metal and frame work on old cars called grave robbers sheet metal. They're more my style and require you to bring the vehicle to them stripped. So that's what im going to do. Right now I'm organizing the garage and building shelves so that I have somewhere to organize all the parts and reorganize my tools. I can't stand working in a mess. but I figured I might as well go ahead and completely fix it correctly the first time.

Take it to a frame shop and put it up on a frame machine and see if the body is ok or not then make a decision....sure sounds like a worthy enough car to at least having it checked out. If both rear tires are showing outer wear, it sounds like the tires were on the front at one time. If you chain a car down on a transporter tight enough, you can bend the rear end but then the tires would most likely wear on the insides...

Your poll looks like you're making some assumptions without having enough facts. As I, then Cranky said, take the car to a professional frame shop and find out exactly what you are dealing with. Why do all the gyrations at this point?

I guess partly because I'm obsessive and when it's slow at work I sit and analyze my plans, or lack thereof. Every one I work with on my crew literally views cars as an appliance while I sit an research kick down linkages and turn the weight and power ratings of my car into physics equations. You guys are just lucky enough to read my ramblings. Lol

No they both had decent tread before I drove it. And the front are different sizes

I would think rear tires wearing on the outside can only be caused by a bent housing.......... any frame damage serious enough to affect the leaf springs and rear should be very obvious, and easy to spot....... either some sort of serious collision damage or rot.......

Sounds like them Duke boys jumped a building or two in it! Only way the axle could be bent that way is if the car was jumped and high centered on an object under the pumpkin during landing! You can check it out yourself with a tape measure just jack it up and measure the tires sidewall top to bottom and front to rear. It should be the same all the way around.
