I found this 69 dart sitting out in a field in Arkansas and it fellowed me home. A 69 dart is one of my favorite cars. It's a slant 6 car but I have a 383 waiting for it. Thought I would share a few pics with you guys. It's amazing how little rust it has after sitting in a field for 30 years. dart1.jpgdart2.jpgdart4.jpgdart5.jpgdart6.jpg

Way cool! It can surprise a guy how one car will rust into the dirt in a garage and another will be in amazing shape after sitting out in wide open for mother nature to beat upon!

This car has been around. It has a faded Hawaii parking sticker and I found a golf score card from a golf course in Toledo Ohio. It ended up in a field north of a place called Bald Knob Arkansas.

Sounds like probably a military member's car at one time. It's also amazing how light those leaning towers of power are

But seriously why is that rear end up in the air so high .. perhaps a reason for it's survival in the field or did you do it?

Uh, a /6 isn't exactly that light....lighter than a small block but not that much lol. Cool find!!

It's minus the engine and trans and I took the front and back seats out. I was thinking it probably belong to someone in the military also. It appears to be a radio delete car since there is no hole for the antenna. The rear springs looks to be original but it did have a hitch on the rear. The only option the car looks to have come with is an automatic trans. There's no fender tag.

Holy crap! And it's not a 4 dr. I'm glad it followed someone home and might as well be you.

That trunk floor looks pretty solid. Even out here in "sunny" California, many cars I see have pitted or rusted spare tire wells and an orange spare tire. Ma Mopar must have used the crappiest trunk weatherstripping ever.

huh-huh huh-huh bald knob...

There appeared to be a lot of old cars (and old tractors) sitting around Bald Knob and Bradford Ark. I would love to make another run out there it's a two day journey for me. The guy had a couple of decent late fifties imperials and some late fifties GM cars but I didn't think my F-150 could safely pull a car that weighed that much that far.

Sorry .. I was trying to make a joke Cranky. The front is up in the air so high obviously the engine isn't in it .. note I said trying :eek:ops:

That will make for a nice street cruiser. A lot of times if a car is sitting high enuf even in a field, the air can circulate underneath and dry it out

great score, I always thought they were a mini RR...LOL... with the 383ci, it will be fun as hell too...
