Found two 1970 Dodge Coronets, sequential production numbered!

I have a friend in north Georgia that has two 1970 Dodge Coronets. One is a B5 blue four door, and the other is a F8 green R/T. The cars were both built in St. Louis, Missouri on the same day. The VIN numbers end in 219121, and 219122. One was found in Hazelhurst, Georgia, while the other was found in Rex, Georgia (about 80 miles away). The four door was originally bought for parts to help restore the R/T, but upon the discovery of the numbers, he doesn't have the heart to cut it up. Pretty cool stuff! Never seen this before...

So he doesn't want to cut them up but would rather let them rot,not a real good choice since neither will get done !!:icon_confused:

I have seen it a few times but usually they are cars that are close a like not a two door and a four door.

a friend has a 1962 ply savoy, 2 dr. one of 3 bought by a local energy co. all 3 have sequential vins. he owns 2 of the 3 and the other slipped away. one of his has a 440 six pack and has been a hot rod for years, the other also a hot rod is pro street, has a blown Hemi. the other was a hot rod also and has a hemi as well. all great cars. they were 6 poppers when new!

If he doesn't want to cut it/them up, what's he gonna do? Restore both? The R/T is bitchin', but the 4-dr would make a cool sleeper or daily driver.

While very cool. Is the R/T missing the entire front clip? If so you'd have to find another 70 Coronet to cannibalize in order to complete the R/T. We all know how hard it is to find 70 Coronets. So having the donor car makes it so much easier to restore the R/T. Also who is going to spend the money to restore a 4 door and have money for the R/T.

Keep the fender tag and vin plate from the 4 door and create a tribute plaque for it to be displayed with the R/T.

If the tags are still there, I'd love to see pictures of them to compare the VONs.

WAG...they have sequential VONs and came from the same dealership. That would explain the sequential VINs.

Cool story. I know another guy with a 68 Cornet R/T Convert built on the same day as mine Sep 11, 1967 in STL but they are not sequential IIR
