Hello everyone,

I've tried searching and found some good information but nothing that gives me a definitive answer. I am trying to find out which is the correct shift linkage for my 1969 Plymouth GTX with an A833. It was a factory auto car but I had AMD install the 4-speed tunnel when they did the floors. I see two types of rods out there. Factory and "reproduction factory." I'm sure the factory ones will work but I currently have the reproductions on there, and I also had the wrong operating levers so I ordered the correct 890,891, and 967 from Passon. Is there any benefit to the curve on the reproduction rods? Are they completely wrong for my car? Pictured below is what's on my car now, the factory rods, and a set of reproduction rods that look like mine. My father put this 4-speed in a few years ago and can't remember what parts he used lol. Thanks for the help.

Do they work? If they do and you aren’t trying for 1000 point resto, don’t worry about it. Can be big pain to get under there and fiddle with the adjustments to get it right.

Well it was coming out of third gear while driving and the trans was just rebuilt by Brewers about 2 years ago. So, I'm 99% sure it was the incorrect operating lever that was on the 3/4 section of the trans. But I'm now wondering if the rods had something to do with it as well. Exactly, it is a big PITA already figuring this out, I just wanna put it back together correctly and have to work right.

Unhook the rods from the shifter body.

There is a hole that goes thru the body and levers. Slide a 5/16" rod or bolt into the shifter body from the left side....that will center the levers.

Adjust the rods so they easily slide into the arms.

You are done.

Several YouTube videos explain it.

Thanks I know how to adjust them. My question is which rods are correct.
