My "INTRO" to FBBO -- I'm a die-hard MOPAR fan... active with various clubs. I've owned and miss my old '70 Charger 500. BUT.. I've retained my road race/autocross Challenger T/A since purchased in 1975 (not original car, but "purpose-used for AX")... been in some Mopar magzns, etc (MOPAR ACTION, AUG., 2006 best one!)

Now, here's what I hope can interest some of you:

For those of you within the Midwest (Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan, etc)... you may be interested to attend a FREE INDOOR RACING SCHOOL for W2W ROAD RACING, HPDE, HSAX, as well as corner working.

Location: BLACKHAWK FARMS RACEWAY, Rockton, IL (immediately NW of Rockford, IL) BHF is a 2.0 mile road race track with modern facilities, etc. Local hotels available if you desire.

Registration: Must pre-register by March 14, 2016 using www.motorsportreg.com NOTE: No penalties if you can't attend, but the club kindly requests that all attendees pre-reg.

This will be the 55th Annual FREE INDOOR RACE SCHOOL; sanctioned by the MIDWESTERN COUNCIL OF SPORTS CAR CLUBS (www.MCSCC.ORG); hosted by the NORTH SUBURBAN SPORTS CAR CLUB of the MCSCC. More info: Seewww.NSSCC.ORG

This event is guaranteed to get you more interested in W2W, HPDE and HSAX. The MCSCC hosts a highly competitive season series of events, so, come on out and see what you can get involved in -- DRIVE FAST, DRIVE SAFE, AND NO TICKETS!

PM me if you wish and I'll be happy to answer any questions, or else, post your questions within this thread. I'm hoping to see more MOPARS get involved!!! I know you're out there!!! Spread the word if you want! MoPower to ya!

Welcome to FBBO from warm & sunny NorCal
we do most our car events outdoors here, all year round too...LOL :poke:

thanks for the heads up too

I'd go if it was close to me...

USARR -- T/Anks for the reply!!! It'd be great to see and meet you. For this specific "school" on March 19, 2016, its very low-key and friendly orientated. Simply a safe car (no leaks, decent tires, street-driven a-ok.)... helmets not req'd for that day. The track touring session is at moderate speeds (avg ~55 mph) around the entire track, considering the turns/corners, etc. On an actual race day, cars such as ours will avg ~70mph... hitting ~90-110-120 down the long stretches/straights.... but then its a test of your brakes.

Most of the MCSCC season events are held at Blackhawk Farms Raceway... out of member-preferred race track/location here in the midwest. However, occasional other race wknds (W2W and HSAX/HPDE) are held at the Joliet Autobahn (Joliet, IL).. either the south and/or north courses; Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI; Milwaukee Mile, Milw, WI; Gingerman Raceway and Grotten Raceway (both in southwestern MICHIGAN).

See the web-site at www.mcscc.org for their complete season schedule, as well as the GCR (General Competition Rules) for the different race class rules... HSAX rules, etc. The "Council" has different clubs, including the Madison Sports Car Club (Madison, WIS) which is one of the largest in the Council. Fun people, great amature racing at all levels... W2W and HSAX/HPDE.

I hope to meet you... Hemi Orange Challenger T/A (occasional W2W Pace Car).

There are a few really cool Mopars that show up ... an awesome '67 GT-1 road race fasback B'Cuda, and some HSAX/HPDE Mopars.

ALSO -- this wknd (Feb 13-14, 2016), at the SCHAUMBURG CONVENTION CENTER, for the PERFORMANCE RACE EXPO SHOW, the MCSCC will have a race-booth promoting the race season events, etc. I'll be working the club's booth on Saturday afternoon. Stop by and say hello!

AND... another very large racing club of the MCSCC is the North Suburban Sports Car Club www.nsscc.org most member of that club are in ILLINOIS (such as I am... NW Chgo 'burbs).
