Hey guys....I am wanting to swap from power to man brakes on my boys Charger for several reasons.....what will be need to do that??

if that is the only change then you will need;
1)adapter plate for firewall mount of master.
2)adjustable rod for pedal to master.
3)manual master cyl.
all can be purchased through mancini racing as well as other sites

Right on!! Thanks I appreciate it!!

The right stuff has an adjustable pushrod for the pedal to master, and only $15...

I had a pisser of a time when I tried converting my Charger back to a manual steup!
Originally, the car was 4 wheel manual drums. I added front discs from a 75 Dart along with the Dart power booster and master cylinder. Braking was fantastic. I added rear discs and while braking didn't improve much, it didn't get any worse.
I decided to switch to a manual setup to clean up the engine bay, shave a few pounds and to make up for the low idle vacuum of my engine. I had the worst of luck! I tried 4 different master cylinders with different bore sizes and couldn't get the brakes to feel right. Every setup I tried gave me a firm pedal but terrible braking! I couldn't get the tires to skid on dirt. In truth, it simply wasn't safe to drive anywhere. I tried different combination valves, different front calipers with larger bore pistons... nothing helped. I put the power stuff back on and added a vacuum storage can.
I wish I knew what I did wrong. If I did, I'd consider trying it again.

Hello,I changed my 70 charger to manual from power because of lack of Vacuum. The mounting braket and an adjustable rod and new master was all that was needed m I;ve been driving it for about 8 years like that , although it needs a firm foot on the pedal it stops finem Under panic braking my foot always seems to have the nesessary pressure!Peter.

Apologize for the jack but what is the diff in length for a manual compared to a power brakes pushrod on a 68 B-body?

I assume CarKnockerJim is working on a 77 Charger and is it the same as earlier or are different gen body styles different lengths?
