Front brake bleeders '63 Plymouth

Hi. Does anyone out there have a handy hint on what you can use to loosen ( and tighten ) the
front brake bleed screws on a 1963 Plymouth. I'm assuming the front brakes are original and have
had quite a time getting a wrench, of any type, on those screws. I suppose there's some type of specialized Mopar tool the factory mechanics used. Thank you.

I just use a 1/4 inch drive 6 point socket on mine .

ditto. spray some penetrant on it and let sit overnite.

I used a closed end wrench with a bend in it to clear the steering knuckle.

Brake Bleeder Wrench, should be able to find one on the KD rack at the parts store.

If they're original I'd replace the whole cylinder. Not that expensive...

I know from personal experience that they are a bitch to get to when you are bleeding. Like these guys say, use penetrating oil on them so you don't bust them off or you'll end up replacing the cylinders. I also use a 1/4 drive socket to loosen and tighten. When I'm bleeding, I push a bleeder hose on the end and then just open and close them finger tight until I'm done bleeding then give then a final tightening (not too tight) with the socket. This might seem obvious, but turning the steering wheel all the way toward the side you are working on makes it a lot easier to get to the bleeders.

Another thing to consider, if the cylinders are good and original, is to install SpeedBleeders. Makes bleeding a piece of cake.

Thank you all for your input. I think I'm going to try new cylinders and possibly SpeedBleeders. Mine are exceptionally
tough to get at. I've gotten to the point where I'm using a 1/4" distributor wrench ( about 3'' long ) to be able to get
to them. It's really a struggle to get anything else on them. I wonder what engineering genius thought that location was a good idea. Thanks again.

yes, some areas are a bear to get at. makes you wonder if these old cars were assembled in China with small hands
