Are the front spindles, rotors, and calipers the same on a 67 Belvedere as they are on a 73 challenger? In other words, are the e body and B body front disc brakes the same and will they work on the 67?

I put my 87 5th Ave spindles on my 66 Coronet last night. My brother has a set of 71 Satellite spindles, which I think should be the same as E body spindles. I couldn't tell any difference between the 71 and the 87.

I know there is supposed to be 3/8" difference in heigt, but I couldn't see it when they were side by side. I didn't actually put them on a flat surface, stand them up and measure, just held them as close as I could with the bolt holes lined up.

The way the lower ball joint is designed is different. On the 66 it's made into the "steering arm" which bolts to the botoom of the spindle and connects to the outer tie rod end. On the 71 and 87, the LBJ is a screw in, like the upper, and mounts to the lower control arm (which is completely different), and the steering arm just has a hole to mount the top part of the ball joint.

At first glance, it doesn't look likr it will work, but if you really study it, you'll see it does, if you use the older style LBJ and bolts. BTW the steering arm bolts on the 66 pass through and have nuts. On the 71 and 87, they thread into the arm, which is tapped.
