I have an aftermarket lift off hood on my 68 Satellite. Well, it is technically just sitting there. The rear brackets for the hood pins just came in the mail, and I had assumed the front hood pins go right where the little screw in bumpers WOULD have gone, but lo and behold, I just discovered that the holes already drilled in the hood would place the front hood pins maybe an inch or two too far forward of that location. Soooo...am I missing a part? Am I looking at having to fab up something here?

If anyone needs any pics of the offending area, let me know!

Well, that showed me exactly what is wrong. The top of my core support is different than the ones in those pics. I don't have that large bracket that looks like it bolts to the top of the core support with two big bolts. The hood pins bolt to that bracket. Furthermore, I have not seen that available anywhere. Does anyone have a pair of those? Or is that an impossible to find item? Am I back to having to fabricate something?

Tommy your correct the 68 has a differant ends on the core support the pins would be floating in the air you can add a piece of metal between the grill support & the rad support thats what I did on my 68 to install a A-12 hood on it, I've done it a few times on differant cars.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture or two of such a creature, would you?
