Front Suspension and K frame color for a driver

The front end rebuild on my 72 GTX is starting to suffer (in a good way) from the "while I'm at it syndrome". What started as a simple fix what it needs for an alignment has turned into ordering a complete set of bushing and tie rod ends from PST. During the last week of disassembling the suspension I found out through a completely unrelated conversation that an old friend bought a coating company. Now that I have a friend in the powder coating business and I'm still waiting on the PST components I'm thinking about jazzing it up a bit. I also have plans to slightly lift the engine and remove the K Frame. My final goal of the car is to get it to a medium to high level driver / local car show status.

My current thoughts are using a dark gray for the suspension components and black for the K member. The car is painted Torrid Red which is it's original color.

What do you think?

I paint all my frontend component parts and pieces in POR after they are blasted. It holds up good and doesn't lose the gloss since its never in the sun.

No disrespect at all towards your friend, but if he's a newbie to the industry please let him practice on somebody else's stuff instead of yours for a few years. Your suspension parts have a lot of tight tolerances, threaded areas, and LOTS of potential for disaster.

i think i'm in good hands with my friend. This is a side business he started because he wasn't happy with the work he was getting at other shops. He's an extreme perfectionist, Army Ranger, Special Forces and Green Beret veteran and he's not in the business to make a living. I'll post some pictures once I get the parts back. The only down side is you cannot be in a hurry. He's having trouble getting all the oil out of the inner cavities of the K Member.

I get all my suspension components hot tanked before I blast and paint them. Its a whole lot easier.
