Fuel cell sending unit work on the factory gauge?

I have a 16 gallon aluminum fuel cell that has a sending unit in it. Can I hook this up to my factory fuel gauge? Thanks

The Chrysler {& Ford} type fuel gauge sending units, typically have a much different ohm resistance for full & empty, than the A-typical GM type sending units, that come in most all fuel cells... so no probably

I'd give it a try and see what it reads. I've connected my Jaz cell's sender to the stock gauge in my '66 Belvedere and after some initial confusion, I realised it's reads in reverse! It does a full sweep of the gauge though so it works fine for me ;-)
