My question is, would it be possible to remove the fuel gauge from a '69 B Body standard dash THROUGH the FRONT, after having unscrewed the nuts from behind the dash? All other gauges work and all the connections for the fuel gauge seem kosher.

I would like to avoid having to remove the whole cluster from behind the dash to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Would be pretty tough...Worst would be battling the dash pad I guess. Lot of hidden screws under that. If you took the lower dash pad off I could see it being a possibility. The chrome cluster bezel comes off, then take off the outlying screws for the cluster lens. Fuel Gauge faceplate and assembly comes right out from the front side once the two nuts are removed:

Good luck

I see. I was thinking that it was simply a matter of getting the plexiglass cover off, but it looks much more involved in order to do that.

I might wait to do it until I'm ready to put in a clock (where there is currently a delete plate).

Thanks very much for the diagram!
