Posting for 72Satelite440, but if anyone can take a look and see if I am missing something that would be greatly appreciatedHere are the pics. They aren't the greatest pics so I am sorry for that. It appears that I don't have a vented fuel tank on my car as all I have is the main fuel line coming out from the side of the tank. I don't have any vent tubes on the side or in the front of the tank. My main line runs from Passenger side out of the tank and loops in front of the tank and then bends out and around the frame rail right behind rear passenger tire. It then runs the frame rail to in front of the rear tire where it bends back to the rocker panel and runs along side the rocker panel. It is bolted in 3 places along the rocker panel. It then bends toward the center of the car and runs through the frame rail before ending in the engine compartment alongside the frame rail. I hope this helps some. If you need any detailed pics of an area I didn't cover let me know.

Thx for the pics -Installing new ones wont be fun ...

Im not a expert and may not be correct but I thought you should have a inline fuel filter at the rear of the car--
Can anyone verify this?

Like I told you in the email man, my car is going to take a lot to get back road worthy. I am sure it is missing a lot. A young kid had it for a while and didn't know anything on how to keep it up. So there are splices in places and stuff missing in the other. I just hope the pics could help you.

RRGTX72............Quick stupid question.

How do you apply the font ( description of things to photo's ) ?

After uploading the pics to your computer, just right click on them and edit them using Paint. Then just click the text box and start typing. Pretty easy.

72 Road Runner/GTX Gas Tank

According to the two gas tank suppliers I am aware of (Spectra Premium Products & Quanta Products), they list the following specs for 1971-72:

Part No. CR10A : 1971 to April 1972, 4 side (left) vent tubes, 20 gallons, 28-1/2" x 25-1/8" x 9-1/2".

Part No. CR10B : After April 1972, 4 front vent tubes.

The vent tubes were part of the E.E.C. which in my 1971 GTX, the evaporator is located in the wheel well behind the left rear tire. There is a stone deflector shield that protects the evaporator. The '72 should be similar. If your gas tank does not have the vent tubes, then perhaps you have an incorrect tank.

I believe I still have an extra evaporator and shield if you're interested.

Thanks for the photo. I would definitely be interested in it. Just PM me the price you are wanting. It appears there is a lot of things I am finding wrong on my car as I continue to dig through it to restore it. But thanks to all my Mopar family it has been manageable.
Thanks

After crawling under there this morning, I do have the 4 vent tubes on the left side. They just have 2 plastic hoses looping back into them. So now Evaporator. So what does this mean about venting?

Evaporator? The fuel tank vapor separator? In 72' if your original fuel tank has the vent lines exiting the passenger side, your car was built prior to April 72' and should have a vapor separator/expansion tank mounted at the rear of the left rear wheel well as did the 71's. Should see some mounting points in the well and one of those vent lines pictured would have connected to it as well. Other end of the line would connect to the charcoal canister mounted in the engine compartment. The third hard line running back to the rear of the car would a fuel return line, if the fuel tank sender is correct, there should be 2 nipples, one for the feed and one for the return.
After April 72' the tank vapor separator was redesigned and moved to the front center of the tank, vent lines exit the tank at the top-front of the tank. The later tank vapor separator is smaller, mounted to the shock cross-member above the differential, but also had a fifth connection to the line running up to the charcoal canister.

Later 72' separator;

My tank has the vent tubes coming out of the driver's side fuel tank, but like I said they are just looped back into the tank. My car was built in Mar 72. If this helps.
