HI,
semi stock motor just went thru another stock fuel pump.. are they just crap now a days??? leaking at the seam I think, that's where the fuel is sitting anyway unless the weep hole is on top?.. can I just go with one of those inline electric ones? I'm running a 450 QFT. I have a lifter leaking down so I am going to up the cam some from the 440 Lift to a comp extreme 462/470 lift/262/270 duration and (if I need to ) carb to a 650. Its my daily driver so I don't want to go to crazy.. stock manifolds
Thanks to all who reply

I have had a couple of fuel pumps leak at the seam also. These are on a 318 or 273 small block. Some quit leaking when the engine got warm.

I have gone to a different supplier and so far they are better.

Yes they are crap. I’ve went through 2 in the past 3 months in my 440. One was a stock Carter and the other was a Delphi. I put one of these Carter high performance pumps on and haven’t had any problems so far.

A few years ago, Carter was having issues with very high output pressures because of the incorrect springs being used. After having several of them rebuilt and also seeing the poor quality of the rubber diaphragm installation, I switched over to Edelbrock 1723's. Knock on wood, they have been great. Just another option for you.

HI,
yeah, I like the fact that they are screwed together and not just clamped.
thanks

I just ordered this one yesterday. I hope it's as good as what I've read!

I have the Carter hi performance pump on my small block 6-pack stroker. Had to use a pressure regulator, 7.5 lbs of pressure was a little too high. No problem with the pump otherwise.
