I dont have a wire for this spade connection. Is this a ground? Can i just make a ground and connect it to the frame somewhere?
I put tar paper under my straps to protect the tank .should I remove that? There was never a tab like that on an OE unit, hence no wire to connect to it... You can ground it if you want to be certain you are grounded, factory was a clip from spigot to fuel line (that's grounded to frame by it's clamps and bolts). Most tanks are grounded anyhow by the straps and J bolts.
No reason to since it's already together. Make a wire and use the spade on your new sender and be 100% sure you're groundedI put tar paper under my straps to protect the tank .should I remove that?

Using a multimeter on the ohms scale will prove that beyond the shadow of a doubt.
Thanks for the idea.Using a multimeter on the ohms scale will prove that beyond the shadow of a doubt.View attachment 1646250
Thanks. I looped the bare end around a bolt connected to the suspension for the time being. I have to run to walmart for some electrical parts shortly anyway. The best place to ground the tank is to the frame. Make a ground jumper with the female spade on one end and ring lug on the other. Attach ring lug to frame. Good source for electrical info: ceautoelectricsupply.com
