While working on solving the fuel starvation issues on the MSD atomic system i had the fuel sending unit in and out probably 20 times. Now that i have a aeromtive phantom in the tank i dont run fuel through it anymore. But Now its just reading full all the time. Im pretty sure the new pump is far enough away to not interfere with the fuel sender

I unhooked the fuel gauge wire to the sending unit and the gas gauge showed empty. I hooked up my meter, i was reading it upside down it either read 1 or .1 ohms lol

It is a spectra and worked fine until i started taking it in and out of the tank.

Also there is a little circuit board behind the gauge cluster, i think has something to do with the fuel gauge as well. The previous owner put in

I ordered a new fuel sender, am i right to assume there is something wrong with the one thats in it now? 10390962_10152951355423242_1670796803466367079_n.jpg

if plugged in reads full, when its not,and unplugged reads empty when unhooked.you have a bad sending unit, almost for sure.check to make sure tank is well grounded when installed.also,by your pic,you have plenty of clearance to that pump.could have broke the sender while pulling so many times.have you tested the ohms reading of the sender out of the car?move it with your hand while hooked to multi meter.should go about 10 to 73 ohms or so.

The circuit board behind the dash is probably the previous owners attempt at a hand made 5V limiter. The one to use is made by Real Time Engineering, IVR-3 for our applications. PM me if you'd like, I have rebuilt well over 100 of these 66/67 clusters in the past 3.5 years. Hope you can get the problem solved...
