on the factory fuel sending unit, the piece (earth i am guessing) that clamps around outlet and then clamps onto your fuel line, where else can this go? to the frame of the car? as i want to run a non metal fuel line can this be done?

thats a ground strap for the fuel gauge. you can eliminate it and use a solid copper wire and clamps to ground it on the body someplace.

just go from the sending unit ( where the strap is now) to ground anyplace on the body with good clean connections of course.

sure.you just need to attach the ground strap to the frame and check for a good ground.

sweet exactly what i was hoping thanks for the quick answers

with my pump, racepumps recommended i run a 1 way check valve right at the tank, so i am using that aeroquip puch lock hose( it is a ptfe lined hard rubber with braided nylon outer) and fittings, plus that grounding strap seems a bit dodgy to me so good to know i can use

Alrighty then. You're usin some of the most unconventional stuff I ever heard of. I'd been goin to the grocery store in that car by now. Good luck.
