fuel sending unit

Is it possible to test the fuel sending unit on a 69 Roadrunner without removing it from the tank? If so, how do you do it?

Good question I guess the only way you could test it is to put gas in it and see if it works. Other than that I would say no, I just went through replacing mine so if you have any questions let me know.

what are you trying to accomplish you can remove the wire from the sender and go from there to ground with your dvom and read the resistance you can also perform a simple gauge test as well with some resistors from radio shack

Trying to determine if my sending unit is bad. I grounded the wire from the tank to the gaufe and the gauge works. Guess my new sending unit is no good.
