Well I am tossing around making a video of how to adjust your sending unit to match your gauge. (Out of the car of course lol)

Been playing with an older repop one I have and an original non rally gauge I have as he test subjects.

Finding I can set the full mark to the mark on t gauge but the empty mark setting on the sending unit would end up impossible to get to even the last mark on the gauge due to the float hitting the filter sock arm.

I have a newer repop 5/16" unit in my tank now, and noticed the full and empty was getting to be more than a little off. Really noticed it when I forced gas to fill up all the way up the filler neck and finally got the gauge to read full at the full mark! also Venting nightmare on top of that when these tanks are overfilled switched vent lines or not lol

It's no wonder we have such a hard time with these repop units, when I get the second new one I will put it on the bench and go through the testing sequence to see if it reads right or not if it does or only needs minor adjustment's to the stops to get it good I will make the video.

Cool, but do they have to be freaking $200! lol why so much? and in the picture they are using the repop plastic float? For that money it better have a solid one piece brass float made from an old battleship! lmao

I want to see bench testing now or I am not spending anymore good money on these repop or nos. I just don't trust any of the anymore it's sad too. But unless I can see for myself it's spot on the marks or within MM.

Me too. Done. Show me one that works.

So as promised I made a short video hopefully explaining some of why the repop sending units do not read accurately, Don't laugh to hard it's my first talkie! lol

Will try to follow up when the new repops shows up, bought from Vans on ebay. $36 same 5/16"

If you need info on how to test this out yourself at home let me know its as easy as you see to do an as you can see I didn't fry the gauge!

I was not familiar with them. Now I have another company bookmarked on the laptop to possibly take my money. Have you dealt with before?

Yep. Randy is an asset to the restoration community.

Sorry, I posted the info in a hurry but I believe the group buy is priced at $80 or so. There's a thread going on Moparts under the deals and new items section.

I'll be interested to see how the next one compares as I have had similar problems with these senders myself. Wondering if you straightened out the arm a little maybe the gauge would go slightly lower?

$80 for a NOS one is a lot more reasonable in a group price depending on the how much of a group we are talking here 1-3 or 50?

Are you referring to the stop set point piece or the float arm?

I was thinking about straightening the bend of the arm out a bit. I think the group buy they were looking for was 100 pieces. It sounds like they got enough for the B-bodies, but need another 40 to do the same for the E-bodies.

Yep think that is really the only way to get it right, I will give it a try and see how well that works.

I've heard the Dixie ones are real accurate too. A member over at 66-67 Charger has one and its spot on.
Have to check out the Moparts deal.

Thanks for the video, be waiting for the next.

When you remove your old one if working check the OHM values and match to the new one
and if anyone has the proper OHM readings maybe they can post for everyone's use
