I have been trying all the new fuel tank sending unit. Just junk. Have grounded the unit and tank but no help. Now found a nos. Not put in yet but have now my turn signal flasher is clicking all the time. Help
The two shouldn't be related, but. What kind of shape are your wiring harnesses in? Also, in my case, my fuel gauge worked better with the old IVR vs the new solid state one. I am not an electrical person, bad turn signal switch, flasher? It's getting power from somewhere.
Nobody makes a good sending unit for our late 60's/early 70's b-bodies, so don't feel you've done
anything wrong there - and as @Bird 426 says, the turn signal thing is a different circuit.
Sounds more like crossed wires or some such there.
I believe there is a website that will rebuild your original unit. I don't know the cost or anything since I've never had it done. Maybe someone here can chime in or do a google search.
