On the long line that goes into the trunk, mine could use replacing so the question is how do I do that? I have the fuel tank off so now would be the time
Thanks, I got that. I think I should have clarified, Is it just as straight forward as pulling both ends out from the trunk and putting a new one in or is there more to it than that?
I haven't looked close at it from the trunk because it's on jack stands right now with the fuel tank off but it does go through the floor. On the end that goes over to the right side, I know there is a grommet but I'm not sure about the end to the tank. I don't think there is. The tube is bent where it goes through the floor and that's where my question comes in. The assembly line did things in an order and sometimes that order does not fit well with replacement, like did they put the floor in first or the line? I just thought someone may have already done it and could tell me if they had any problems. Thanks for the input Bro!Hey Bill, I'm not "positive" since I have a 70, but when my trunk floor was replaced, the body shop took that "long back & forth" piece out & kept it for me. I plan to put it back in my own car, but I do have it out where I can look at it. It seems like it's as simple as you describe....just pull it out.... and going from memory, doesn't it travel through the trunk floor (actually higher up, right behind the back seat) through one or more rubber plugs? I'd have to look, but I think you just gently pull it out by those plugs????
