where is the fusible link on the 63 dodge 330 and does anyone have a good pic of the harness ?

Tag for info. I have a 62 Ply, should be same harness that is original and did not see any fusible link when I was cleaning it up. Do you need pics of the under dash harness or the engine compartment harness?

My 70 Charger had it on the 12 guage wire from the ammeter to the starter relay. Maybe the older cars had them elsewhere? Maybe look for a connection where the wire size changes. The theory is that it is in the circuit that also has the alternator charge wire.

It should be attached to the starter relay on the fire wall! And should have a tag stating fusible link, 10 ga. wire also

it has a purple wire and a red wire coming off the starter relay but the red one has been cut I think it went to the amp gauge through the bulkhead connector .my 65 has a blue wire with a yellow tag that says fusible link

Red wire...yes, that red wire goes through the firewall block, to the ammeter. At least normally.
Sounds like someone made a change, trying to add a link.

I have both 64 and 65 wire diagrams, and don't think (dang, I'm getting dangerous again!) fusible links were used until 66 and up. Could be wrong on the 65s.

63 005.jpgI thought so my 65 has a blue wire but 63 dosent but I need a close up pic in this area between the arrows

This is from my '62.

I don't think the fusable link was used until 1964

The last two might be better...

1962 Belvedere, 318. No fusible link to be found, wire wrap looks original and has a green marked tag near the bulkhead connector.

yes I checked the under dash it is melted I need a under dash harness no one makes them guess I will have to find 2nd hand thanks for the photos :icon_compress:

Other option would be (since your going to anyway), is to just replace the burned out section of the harness, with new wires. Even with these older Mopars, they can be re-wired to take a fusible link, in place of the straight wire. Builder's choice.

Yep. If the connectors are still in good shape, order up some Packard 56 male and female terminals, replace the wires, and re-wrap your harness.
