gas filler leak

hey guys i just put in a new gas tank new filler neck new grommet and when i fill it past 1/4 tank the gas leaks out of the grommet area is there something thatg will seal this leak tanks for any help

At 1/4 tank I wouldn't think the fuel level would be high enough for it to even get to the grommet. Another seal is all I can suggest. I recently did the same thing on my RR and the fit was perfect with no leaks. In fact it was so tight it took me over 30 mins of pushing, wiggling and shoving to get the neck back in.

When you take the grommet out inspect the groove in the tank that the grommet fit into for imperfections. Perhaps it is out of round or dented or who knows causing the grommet to not seal properly.

1/4 tank leaks? weird you sure it's not pressure causing it to back flow out?

I have replaced 3 gromets in 3 different cars and never had a problem, fit has been very good and tight. All I can see is a fault in the gromet {SENT THE WRONG ONE}or the tank openning. Is the bead around the openning on the tank ok? Was the old one removed with a tool that could have bent the bead?

i got it fixed

i got it fixed thanks guys it was actually leaking around the sending unit i just didnt have it locked all the way down and the gas was seeping out thank you for your help
