On my 68 RT there are 4 openings on the gas tank after the pickup/sender unit has been put in the tank. Two of the openings are on the tank, and two are on the pickup cap. The four lines are 2 vents (one under the car and one that goes into and out of the trunk) one supply line and one return line. The supply and return attach to the pickup. The vents go to the tank. Does it matter which vent line goes to which tank connection, and if yes, what is the correct way?

Yes.. one vent is short and barely into the tank, it goes to the line up into the trunk. The other vent line runs all the way back to beside the fuel filler.. it goes to the upper shock mount tube. If you look in through the filler neck/hole you can see which vent is which.... which is more important to do as it's been known to have some repro tanks backwards.
