Gas tank seals on a 66 belvedere

I'm installing a new stainless steel tank in my 66 Belle. On the rubber grommet that fits on the tank where the filler neck slides in, does it need some sort of sealant or will it seal up just by tension?

no sealant is needed, just install the filler tube and you will be on the road. You might find it a tight fit, we just use some grease to get it to slide in the tank grommet easier.
