Gen III wheel lugs?

Got a question - has anyone replaced the crappy OEM lug nuts on a new Charger or Challenger? Any reason regular acorn style nuts in 14mm x 1.5mm and the 60 degree conical seat will not work well? The OEM uses 14x1.4 bulged acorns with the 60 degree seat and the stupid sheet metal cap that goes over the nuts.

as long as they are both 60 degree acorn then no problems.good idea to retorque new stuff after 100 miles or so as well.you put diff thread pitches but i think it was a typo.

Thanks, yea, they are 1.5 pitch. I can't see a reason that they regular acorns will not work myself but wanted to check around. The OEMs are the bulged style but replacement bulged style nuts run about double of what the regular straight sided acorns go for.

I changed them for solids on the wife's Jeep Liberty, no issues.

I found some chrome plated Dormans that are similar style to the OEMs, with the bulged acorn shape at the local ORiley's that I am putting on later today. They were only a bit over $30 for the full set of 20.
