I am getting started with my project this week. I am ready to purchase some drive train items to go with the Hemi in my pics. I'm told it has 650 HP, which we will varify as soon as I get a flywheel and some headers. This leads to my questions... I've been told different things about what to buy for the car and I want to make sure I don't buy the "wrong" stuff!
The car was originally a 318 car, so it will never be numbers matching. With that being said, I want to put a cost conscience drive train that will work with the Hemi. What flywheel (143 tooth?), what trans? (833 18 or 23 spline?), does drive shaft matter?, what rear end (8" that's there or Dana 60 sure grip?)
Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated. If I had an unlimited budget, I think I know the answers, but trying to do this wisely, Id love to hear from you'all! Thanks!

on my 68 RR when I took out the 383 and put a hemi in I bought a new billet 8 bolt flywheel an reused the 383 bellhousing and clutch, and trans works fine for a street car. if your really going to pound it then the dana and 18 spline would be next.

As far as the drive shaft, Dyna tech built me a monster drive shaft. Wasn't cheap, but I won't break it.

Thank you, obviously there is a big cost difference between the 23 spline and the 18. Or I guess I should say "availabilty" difference. I have been talking to people about both, and I want to buy one this weekend. Thanks again
