Rolled it out from under the desk today. Very soon at the machine shop. Got a LOT to learn. Block is a JP-1. Heads are Mopar dual plug aluminum. Rockers and stands are stock. Crank is a Crower 5/16 stroker.lol. Aluminum rods, pistons. Gear drive, roller cam. Nothing state of the art but thats okay. Cause it will make good power. Its dry sumped and will be running a littlefield 14-71 supercharger. Methanol for fuel. Not sure what its going into.....

Sweet parts, I'm a little envious...
I'm also broke...LOL

Methanol is a lot easier on parts,
but Ch3N02 {nitro} is ultimate cool in an altered

Thanks for the compliment Budnicks. Broke,I can relate to that. But the deal for the parts was too good to pass on. Was very lucky on that one. So far it looks like it will come in at about $ 7-8 per horsepower. Bout 11k total. One reason all my junk gets around on open trailers.lol. Any advice is welcome as I'am not finding much info on this type of motor. Hey I'am still wondering if this takes water or not!

Street motor right??,,,,,lol
Those heads look the same as a set I have on the shelf. Do you know who ported them? Are there any stampings on the heads??

I checked em out. Douglas Porting Service. And get this, dated 11/12/82! At least it looks like a competant job. Uniform, even, slightly rough, stayed away from the short turn radius. LOL. Will get some flow data and go from there.

Those heads most likely have raised exhaust ports too. Any idea where you want to land? Door car,,,altered,,rail,,,,,,,,,,?????

Probably end up in the 23t altered. The hemi in that car now is all steel. You have an idea how much lighter this aluminum motor is? Had the steel motor in the bantam altered,,,,for one outing. It was a bit too much.

Lets throw some weight around LMOFL!! I'm guessing my stock iron heads have to be at least 80 lbs heavier than these aluminum heads. This Siamese bore Mega block weighs 200 lbs more than a stock iron block.
How much does an aluminum blown hemi weigh?? I'd bet I have 900 lbs over my front tires and the car weighs over 3800 lbs with my fat ***.
If I can't drive in the street with my junk I wouldn't be happy.:realcrazy:

Mega block 200lbs heavier! Come on now! Whatcha got there-the compacted graphite block? That ones heavier because that stuff is heavier than iron. Least thats the way I understand it. For the street I got my 64 belvi. Put an 11-1,solid cam hemi with an Art Carr rmvb t-flight in it in1988. Gave my dad the keys and he drove it for near 20 years. Just changed the oil and plugs now and then. And repaired the deep sump a few times. A few years back I repoed it. And swapped in a fresh hemi. See pops dont drive so good anymore. So now the 64 is set up like a late 70s street racer. 2 carbs,t ram and 2 kits. Hidden, but not real well. Like to get it to the track this summer. If I can make the time for it.

Perfect, does it hook?? I'm bought a pair of MT10.5w's to try this year, also a fresh set of ET Streets. They changed 'em up a little.
Another set of rims should arrive next week or so.Easier to have a set for the slicks and one for the streets.
How fast was the racecar with an iron block??

The 64 has not been to a track. Its got some Nitto 555 drag radials and some low dollar drag shocks. I will run it like that and see what the car wants. The trans in the car is a 65 t-flight by art carr. This guy had it in his hemi dodge street racer. A 64 polara. Then he got drafted and sent to viet nam. Came home different. Never used the car again. We bought the car from him about 86. Went through the motor and with the trans installed into the belvedere. Didnt touch the trans. Dad drove it all those years and now its behind this new hemi. The exact same trans from the early 70s. Still operates perfectly. See how long it lasts. Theres a reason some of these guys had the reputation they had.

The 23t,how fast? But when someone asks about the racecar they gotta be more specific. See I run a big block dart. My high school car. Back halved car I'am always playing with. 32bantam nostalgia altered. Blown, injected 392 on gas. The crank sits 2 feet off the ground. Another 23t altered. 540" big block chevy injected on methanol. I wrench on this one now and then also. And the big car,23t. Ya know I only been down the track 5 times in it. Its hard to get help to run it. Need at least a 3 man crew. Straped in real tight, barely able to move. Its quite the experiance and not for most people. With so little seat time every pass is an easy one just to get it down the track.lol. So at 11% over on the blower and a safe tune up its gone a 1.288 60',5.247 @ 135 at the eight,8.309@161 quarter. Another pass 1.286 60',5.164@143 in the eighth,8.188@134 at the quarter. Driven a bit harder the 60' should be close to 1 second flat. The eighth in under 5 and well into the sevens at close to 175. Then I could start leaning on the motor. The fuel pump is good for up to bout 30-35% over. We will see. Next test n tune is in july. I can hear my guys already,"its too hot!" What can you do? Thats what I like about doorslammers. You can run em by yourself. Maybe that new motor will end up in the dart. With a slider clutch and a lenco. LOL.
