Was there ever gold colored shocks on early 60's Mopars, B bodies in particular? I have been told by someone I consider an authority on the car, tell me the gold color shocks on my 63 Dodge max wedge Polara are correct.

I Think That is Correct! Seem To Remember That! Either Gold Color For The Shocks Or Oil Filter! Mind Checks Out Now And Then![/QUOTE

Thanks, I agrree with you. It was the shocks, the oil filter was black with yellow stencil. I checked with the previous owner and he said the gold shocks are correct, and I should look at them closely and see the date. They are dated 1962. The car was built 12/4/62.

I too would like a concensus on this. I have had just as many tell me they are absolutely correct as I have been told they are not.:eusa_think:

Well, I give up. I have tried to find the answer and can't. I guess they are going to stay gold regardless, because I am not going to change them.

My eyesight is terrible so I may not really be seeing gold, but green. I got a response from Norm Brady who restored the car. He said the car had avocado green shocks and it won gold at Mopar Nationals. I have never seen avocado green. Does that do it for anybody? I don't know where the green shocks came from either. I believe those that said they should be black are correct.
