Golf carts on the street

My wife said I should get into custom golf carts and away from cars. She might have a point there. Local town is talking about allowing them soon. Several cities in AZ have the roads marked the same as bike lanes for carts.

When I lived in Oakhurst CC, Blackhawk CC & Rancho Murieta CC
I drove my carts far more than my cars/trucks

mostly gas carts, they would last better & more dependable
mostly Yamaha's too

they had to be mostly stock, by the CC rules
they didn't want people tearing up the courses
but I always did a little work to them, to speed them up

I went to some really good parties in Huber Heights back in the 80's!

There’s a couple kids that run a golf cart around our neighborhood once in a while, don’t know if it’s “legal” or not.

Ok, lets say these things can do the 25-35 mph on city streets. What happens when a full size car doing 25-35 hits one ? Worse than a smart car- i would think.

Well this fricking figures. My parents had an old Nordskog battery powered cart, the kind with a work box and no top, that didn't run so they gave it to me.... Rewired it all got it going and painted it up like an Army jeep(the body looked almost like a miniature Jeep anyway) found little rims and tires for it and everything. It was so much fun, this was about 20 years ago the thing is long gone and now it's becoming a 'thing' that's just my luck!

You have to get a registration sticker from the Village/ town hall it usually requires an inspection and carts are required to have head/tail/ brake lights and working turn signals. Some even require a horn but let you getaway with bicycle style squeeze horns. There are starting to be restrictions because people are going by overboard trying to register side by sides that can do 50-60 mph
