I pulled the ignition switch out of my '62 Savoy this morning and the plastic plug fell apart. Now I have a bunch of wires hanging loose with no plug to hold 'em all together. Is this repopped? or do I need to do the junkyard crawl. Which models does this interchange with?

Also, does anybody repop the gas tank for a wagon? Found plenty for non-wagons. Mine is full of dirt (PO left the gas cap off for 10+ years). I can get mine cleaned out....but if it's full of holes, might need another one.

Thanks in advance

Ouch, I don't recommend fixing the gas tank, welding them is cause for an explosive situation! Toss the old one, perhaps a donor one, that you can 'make' fit? or, get a nice aluminum fuel cell to put in the back? Dunno, ideas...good luck!!!!

You might be able to find someone on the 62-65 Mopar site that can answer your question about a gas tank.

62 plug /ignition

You ask about/for a 'plug' for the ignition. Without you being specific about what actually fell apart I can only assume the fitting that plugs into the switch, in which the wires are fine. If that is the case, it has wide interchange and I would have one, I could slip the wires out of. I can send you for just postage and the value of a bottle of IPA beer i'd need to sip as I'm doing the work. PM me if you want to go there.

Wagon tank, good luck finding one but Im sure there is one somewhere. For my time and money Id take it out and have a good rad or tank repair shop fix it, knowing full well it will cost you more a standard repop one will cost. Just a fact of life, face it and get it done so you are not wasting 4 months and a similar amount of money getting a questionable used one.

If wishes were horses.......

Pull your tank and see if it has any holes in it. A radiator shop can clean it out, then use the "liner" chemicals on it. They work well if used properly

Thanks guys.

I think I have a box of harness plugs stashed in the garage left over from my A-Body Barracuda days. I'll see if one of those works. As for the tank, I'll pull it and see what it looks like. No radiator place here so it'll be a trip to LA, Lancaster/Palmdale or Bakersfield to get it cleaned out and repaired if it needs it.

I also found a few broken wires when I was poking around under the dash tonight...oh joy.
